Parent Teen Intensive

The Way in the Family

Serving Parents and Teens

Have you ever wished your teen came with a manual? Parenting is a challenge, and the challenges of the teen years are unique. The teen years also hold unique opportunities, as kids explore who they are and who they want to become. Statistically, people make some of the biggest decisions of their lives in adolescence or the late teen years.

A rock-solid relationship with your teen is one of the most important things you can give them—making you a key source of strength and guidance for them as they make life’s biggest decisions. But knowing how to relate and build that relationship isn’t always easy.

4 Days to Change the Narrative of Your Home

Whether you’re starting to feel on “shaky ground” relationally with your teen, or hoping to gain relational skills to stay solid, this 4-day family program will give you and your teen practical tools for improving the relationships in your family—all while enjoying the beauty of the Colorado mountains in a safe, Jesus-focused environment. Reconnect and grow with God, with your spouse, and with your teenagers.

“The brightness in [my son’s] eyes, the type of language he was using, the depth of reflection and ownership were things I’d never seen before. Not only was I getting my kid back, which was my hope, I was actually watching a young man emerge that I didn’t even know, that was better than I could have hoped for.

From Separation to Connection

The wilderness setting of this family retreat is very intentional. We have found that wilderness speeds up transformation and connection in multiple ways. Seeds retreats are facilitated by trained guides who are passionate about helping families grow in wholeness, who love Jesus, and who have lots of wilderness savvy (and certifications).

Upon arrival, teens and parents will join their own peer groups—teens will head straight into the backcountry to process life and emotions together, while parents do their own work (facilitated by Seeds’ director) at a retreat center. Families will be reunited for one overnight together in the wilderness.

What to Expect

This experience is about more than just a hike; it’s a guided journey toward relational and personal wholeness. In the colorful Colorado mountains, you’ll find the space to slow down and truly practice the art of listening and being heard. Through intentional spiritual disciplines and a deep dive into your inner world—your thoughts, beliefs, and the hopes you carry—you’ll forge a deeper connection with God and with those walking beside you. For parents, this is a vital training ground: you’ll gain the essential keys to help your teen navigate the turbulent transition to adulthood, learning to lead with grace through the rebellion, fears, and big emotions that define this season of life.
